CALLING ALL GAYBIES CALLING ALL GAYBIES: Have you ever wanted to be apart of a really great art project that’s just like, SUPER gay, and SUPER great, and all about YOU? For the next 7-8 weeks, I will be creating what I hope to be an homage to our beautiful and ever growing LGBTQ community.

For the past 3 months I’ve been in Brighton, I’ve met the most amazing people from the queer community who have shared such interesting stories with me that I felt like there should be a nice way to let their stories be heard. Of course, the LGBTQ community extends FAR beyond the southern coast of England, so I want to reach out to everyone who identifies as LGBTQ on an INTERNATIONAL level.

SO HERE’S MY PROPOSAL: I’d like to get as many people and as many stories as I can. I will be featuring you (illustrated) and your story in a handmade book, along with any photos or memorabilia you’d like to submit. Alongside the book, I will be creating a large flag, consisting of hand-stitched (most likely hand-stitched- we’ll see how well I can manage my time) portraits of everyone who would like to be apart of the project. Now if you don’t have any stories or items to submit, that’s fine. But it would be really awesome to hear from you! I’m looking for stories that range from how you came out, difficulties you struggle/have struggled, what being queer means to you, etc. etc. Stories don’t have to be long at all! They can be a simple statement (example: I’M REALLY GAY.), to as many paragraphs as you’d like (example: I’M SO GAY. I’M THE GAYEST THING. MY MOM DOESN’T KNOW. BUT I KNOW I AND I THINK I’M FABULOUS. etc. etc). I think the more varied the submissions are the more interesting the book will be. But hey, the whole purpose of this project is to let your voice be heard. There is no better time in our generation than NOW to EXPELL OUR BRILLIANT AND BEAUTIFUL GAY PRIDE.

Other details: The book will be hardcover, and I’m not entirely sure if I’ll be making more- again, depends on how well I can manage my time. BUT- if I make copies or zines, I will definitely let you all know. So YES- time is of the essence! If you could please submit as soon as possible, like within the next 3-4 weeks (by the latest, 14 April), that would be FABULOUS. If you need an extension just let me know. I love you all, and I believe the world deserves to hear your story. I want this project to be OVERFLOWING with gay pride so be PROUD AND be LOUD AND LET’S HEAR YA OUT!

Disgusting, vile…monstrous, insane
Vicious, predatorily little demons that lay
I despise and loathe them in every single way
Crude, simple minded, and empty in their brains.
